The impact of early (before the age of 6 months) and late (in adulthood) primary palatal closure on speech characteristics in children and adults with congenital isolated clefts in Uganda
The scientific aim of this project is to assess the impact of early palatal closure (< 6 months) on speech in babies living in Uganda and to determine the impact of delayed palatal closure (> 18 years) on speech in adults. Regarding developmental care, the main purposes are training of speech therapists, the creation of a speech clinic and evaluation of the surgical time protocol.
