Early modern poethood and selfhood. The representation of the urban individual in Eduard de Dene's 'Testament Rhetoricael'

This project offers a reading of the Testament Rhetoricael [Rhetorical Testament] (1562) of the Bruges poet and playwright Eduard de Dene (1505- between 1576 and 1579) as a representation of its authorU+2019s individuality and U+2018selfhoodU+2019. It will do this by confronting the collection to a number of theories about the U+2018selfU+2019.
