Project

Unraveling the role of porcine rotaviruses in the pathogenesis of piglet diarrhea and assessment of their potential for interspecies transmission

Better insights will be obtained in the epidemiology and pathogenesis of porcine

rotavirus infections in pigs suffering from nursery and weaning diarrhea. Besides, the possible danger of interspecies

transmission of these porcine rotaviruses to humans, and vice versa, will be assessed using a new in vitro model of

human and porcine enterocytes.
