Project

The relationships between biodiversity and pesticides in metacommunities.

The research consists of two approaches. For the experimental approach, the effects of pesticides on biodiversity and biomass production is investigated, using metacommunities of diatomic algae. For example, toxicant concentrations, dispersal velocity and direction and topography are varied. For the second approach, a model is developed to define the dynamics of a metacommunity.
