Detailed hydrodynamic modeling of wave energy converters in the near field and the coupling methodology for improving the accuracy of far field simulations

For a cost-effective extraction of ocean wave energy, wave energy convertors (WECs) are arranged in farms. The interaction between different WECs and their environmental impact will be assessed by coupling accurate, yet costly numerical models for near field WEC-wave interactions with less demanding numerical models for far field wave effects. Physical model tests will be used to validate the results.
