Bio-energy crops are the cornerstone of the bio-based economy
Bio-energy crops are the cornerstone of the bio-based economy. Cell wall polysaccharides can be converted to simple sugars that can be fermented to bio-based products. On the other hand, plant metabolites can be used directly by the chemical industry. This project aims at systematically elucidating the structure of aromatic compounds, and should improve the valorization potential of plant biomass.
