Identification and characterization of new DAMPs during immunogenic apoptosis

Therapeutic induction of ER stress in cancer cells by hypericin-based photodynamic therapy induces immunogenicity. This immunogenicity is in part characterized by emission of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). The aim is to identify and characterize new DAMPs, which are important for immunogenicity and to determine how they modulate different biological processes, such as anti-cancer responses, regeneration and tumor metastasis.
