Fundamental Research on the Interaction of Sprinklers and Water Mist Systems with Natural Roof Venting in Enclosure Fires using Numerical Simulations

Fire safety science is essential for improving fire safety designs. Different fire safety measures can be considered for enclosures, e.g. sprinklers and vents. Their interaction is to date poorly understood. The present study targets a substantial increase of fundamental understanding of the fluid mechanics and heat transfer phenomena involved.
