Classifications of generalized polygons and near polygons

The aim of this project is to use the theory of valuations to obtain new classification results for near polygons containing generalized polygons as subgeometries. Special attention will go to the case where the near polygon itself is also a generalized polygon. The computer will be used to obtain the desired results.
