Head dimorphism in European eel (Anguilla anguilla): Onset, functional morphology and implications for natural recruitment

With this project we aim to better understand one specific aspect of the complex life cycle of the European eel: head dimorphism with broad- and narrowheaded eels. We study when the dimorphism arises, and what the implications are for feeding and the accumulation of pollutatns (which is crucial in the success to reproduce in the Sargasso Sea).
