Identification, lead optimization and validation of necroptosis inhibitors

Current findings suggest that necroptotic cell death may be involved in multiple inflammatory diseases. Interfering in the cellular pathways leading to necrosis might thus be a valuable target for therapeutic intervention in these diseases, as an alternative for the current anti-TNF therapies, which have serious drawbacks. Therefore, this project will focus on the identification and validation of necroptosis inhibitors.
