Project

Investigation of superficial dose from intensity modulated beams to understand and decrease skin toxicity during breast irradiation.

By using advanced computational methods and radiochromic film dosimetry, physical insight will be provided into the contaminating radiation in IMRT photon beams. This will allow physicians to assess skin dose in IMRT breast treatments, which is of major importance to properly manage skin toxicity and investigate the interplay between dosimetrical, clinical and genetic factors in future clinical studies.
