Family Law Regulation of Surrogacy in Belgium

The project aims at providing scientific support for the creation of a legal framework for surrogacy. The numerous problems which arise when a woman gives birth to a child for another person, are approached from a perspective of both domestic and private international law. The legal scope withing which surrogacy agreements can be reached and enforced, will be clarified, as well as the means of establishing the parentage of the prospective parents.
