Zoonotic Yersinia enterocolitica in pigs: prevalence, epidemiology and risk factor for infection on herd level

In a first the prevalence of pathogenic Y. enterocolitica in slaughter pigs will be examined. Moreover the obtained isolates will be genetically compared with human isolates. Furthermore serological testing as an alternative method for screening the presence of an infection as well as risks factor contributing to infection will be examined. In a last step attention will be given to the presence and spreading of genotypes in herds.
