Peripheral stents: design investigation through computional tools (Perifere stents)

Stenting vessels, as superficial femoral artery (SFA), which are subjected to a wide range of large deformations remains a problem. Nitinol stents seem the best choice for these lesions but many of these stents fracture due to fatigue mechanisms. The research aims to investigate the failure of highly deformable vessel stenting in order to define guidelines about adequate SFA stenting.
