Sustainable and Adaptive technologies for Low-Power IoT Platforms

The vision of the Internet of Things (IoT) enables millions of battery-powered devices to be connected wirelessly to the Internet or the cloud. However, batteries only last a few years at most. This increases the cost of maintenance and limits the use cases when an application requires long-term deployment. On the other hand, IoT devices have very limited energy budgets, making mainstream networks unsuitable for IoT usage. My research focuses on building sustainable IoT platforms that combine software and hardware, including low-power wireless networks, and energy-adaptive IoT devices with energy harvesting technology.
