Insights into the susceptibility to viral infections in ADA2 deficiency

With this project, I aim to understand the origin of increased susceptibility to viral infections in patients with ADA2 deficiency by: assessing the antiviral immunity in ADA2 deficient cell lines (fibroblasts, monocytes) and testing the hypothesis that secreted ADA2 and/or intracellular ADA2 play a role in antiviral defense, either directly or indirectly; studying the susceptibility of keratinocytes to HPV and test the potential rescue effect of ADA2; analyzing the virome in patients with ADA2 deficiency; studying the immune cells of DADA2 patients compared to healthy controls.
