BOF Tenure Track label Dries Vandamme (R-12365)
Dries Vandamme is head of the ACC research group, where cutting-edge research in circular & green chemistry is conducted. He researches how new biomaterials can be made from waste streams: microalgae biomass shows great potential to produce biobased chemicals for food, feed or biofuel industries. Through various biorefinery concepts, microalgae biomass production is studied in the context of wastewater treatment combined with co-production of biomaterials with added value that contribute to a circular bioeconomy.
