PhD - Pilootinstallation cellulose nanocrystal production by H2SO4

Design, construction, and testing of a pilot-scale set up to produce cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) via acid hydrolysis of wood pulp using sulfuric acid (H2SO4), and of an installation to chemically modify these nanocrystals. The setup to be designed and tested will include the reactors as well as the purification units to recover pure nanocrystals and unused reagents.
