Project

An integrated platform for the identification, isolation and characterization of human clock antibodies. (MabMine)

In this project, an existing research platform (MabMine) will be further strengthened to develop new technologies for the identification, isolation and recombinant production of human monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) from patients. mAbs are proteins expressed by B cells that can bind to a particular antigen with high specificity, making them an attractive therapeutic agent. With more than 100 FDA and EMA-approved mAb-based drugs, mAbs have revolutionized modern medical care by providing precision medicine against many diseases. Since the ability of the human immune system to generate unique and highly specific antibodies is unmatched by any artificial approach, this project aims to develop a platform that can capture the strength and diversity of the human immune system to generate human mAbs with a optimal properties for use as medicines to valorize them in innovative treatment strategies. In addition, the MabMine platform represents an excellent research tool to study human antibody responses, which is important in vaccine and anti-drug antibody studies in understanding the underlying physiopathology of various autoimmune diseases.

This project aims to further expand the MabMine platform into a sustainable catalyst in the identification and development of novel human mAb-based therapies starting from excellent academic biomedical research.
