Left ventricular segmentation of the heart in real-time in 3D echocardiography

In this project, a robust and novel algorithm for real-time segmentation and tracking of the left ventricle in three-dimensional echocardiography will be developed. More specifically, we will segment not only the endocardium but also the epicardium during the course of the heart cycle and will work towards solutions to cope with low-quality images such as those commonly encountered in the hospital environment by making use of prior information.
