Intensification of CO2 capture processes (CAPTIN II) (CAPTIN II)

The overall aim of this project is the development of new and more efficient, sustainable and economically viable technologies
for the capture and separation of CO2.
Several routes will be explored to achieve this goal:
1) Intensification of mass and heat transfer processes in the separation and capture of CO2 through the use of a
vortex unit and an aerosol reactor;
2) Electrification of CO2 capture processes using inductive heating, aiming to develop faster and more efficient separation cycles;
3) The integration of CO2 capture and conversion is envisaged by CO2 capture in alkaline solutions in combination with
electrochemical conversion of CO2 into chemicals.
