Project

A postdoctoral research manager to assist transitioning iSi Health – KU Leuven Institute of Physics-based Modeling for in Silico Health- from idea to effective implementation. (iSi Health)

iSi Health will provide a platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and expertise building on ‘physics-based models for health’ across research domains and groups at KU Leuven and UZ Leuven, thereby optimally preparing for the ‘to be expected’ impact of in silico techniques in the medical domain.
With this proposal, we fund a senior postdoctoral research manager who will refine the translation of the vision on in silico health into a research strategy, together with the iSi Health membership represented through the steering committee and the board of directors. Furthermore, by building a national and international network, his role will be pivotal in establishing the Institute and leverage self-sustainability, by initiating, attracting and coordinating research projects. He/she will have a research manager’s profile and take the lead in setting the step stones for clinical valorization with UZ Leuven and industrial valorization in collaboration with NUMA and LHTC. As such the iSi Health research manager will function as central contact point and ‘(wo-)man on the job’. He/She will also be responsible for the organisational and managerial activities of iSi Health, assisted by the administrative assistant for operational and administrative management.
