Micropeptides as potential targets for cancer treatment in Lung Adenocarcinoma

In the recent studies it was shown that knock out of some micropeptides might cause the preferential loss of viability in a variety types of cancerous cells, such as breast cancer, colon cancer, glioblastoma. To investigate further we decided to focus on KRAS mutant NSCLC and determine whether any micropeptides are involved in a RAS dependent cell transformation. Moreover, if this micropeptides will be found we plan to test them as a potential therapeutic targets. Determination of a novel therapeutic targets might provide a new strategy for lung cancer treatment.
