Book - Report

From social activities such as living, work, recreation, etc. generate various flows in our physical living environment: people, goods, raw materials, food, energy, ... When flows are organized in a spatially sustainable way they contribute to a healthy and productive living environment. But where flows converge
in space, problems can also arise. For example (Environmental) pressures arise when a flow than the available space. Just think of Traffic jams and air pollution. Or shortages and surpluses when supply and demand are not in balance.
Just think of overcrowded (bicycle) parking lots and food surpluses. The way in which different flows are created and organized today is running into on its limits. But intervening is not easy because each flow depends on the scale, location, time and phase in which the flowproduction, transport, storage/transfer or consumption.consumption.By collecting data about flows, we can better organize flows in terms of space, so that there is less negative impact on our living environment for current and future generations.
