Project

Nano-assembly of photonic components (NanoGlue)

The objective of the project is to develop a new competence at UGent with respect to the co-assembly of photonic components with 10-100 nanometer-level alignment precision. This capability is of strategic importance to bridge between device-oriented research and system-oriented research and to build system prototypes for innovative applications. We aim to advance the state of the art of photonic nano-assembly through proof-of-concept demonstration of novel ways of building cost-effective systems, enabled by the investment in a commercial tool for nano-assembly.
