eDNA detection of crested newt in Rumst (EVINBO)

This research is part of the remediation and shoaling project 'RUMST', in which there is a suspicion that there are still remaining populations of crested newt in the area concerned (the valley of the Oude Potgatbeek). This is to be clarified prior to the works, in order to, if necessary, adapt and supplement the redevelopment works in the environmental impact assessment. Therefore, a series of ponds in the area concerned should be screened using eDNA research in order to find out whether or not crested newt is present.
