ESAS - Inventory report on revitalizing the ESAS-database for the North Sea

Within the WOZEP program, there is a need expressed through the Dutch Governmental Institute Rijkswaterstaat to update the current ESAS database (European Seabirds at Sea - data) in order to actualise existing maps showing the spatial distribution of the impact of offshore wind rams for seabirds in the North Sea . In this project we will update the current ESAS database (V 5.1) with recent Dutch, Belgian and German data to derive at version 6.0. Furthermore, we will make an inventory of other existing ESAS data within Europe and prepare the transfer of the ESAS database (V 6.0) to the ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea) datacentre.
