Reliance on voluntary partnership agreement FLEGT with UE in order to reinforce the sustainable management of forest resources of DRC

The activities planned by the JBM at Yangambi are a component of the "FLEGT" programme funded by Belgium through the delegated cooperation with the European Union. BGM implements interventions aiming to reinforce Congolese research and training institutions specialized in the fields of sustainable management of natural resources. The project seized the opportunity to revive the herbarium of Yangambi and re-establish it again as the reference herbarium for national and international researchers, teachers and students who conduct biodiversity-related studies and conservation of the Flora of the Congo Basin.
