Project

Innovate sensors and imaging for organoid-based disease models.

As part of the OrganADVANCE consortium, this PhD project aims to merge the knowledge of imaging and chemistry experts, with biomedical scientists to boost organoid research. Organoids are emerging as powerful alternatives to traditional cellular or animal models. However, there is a limited number of tools and assays available for their study. The goal of this PhD is to develop, characterize and validate novel fluorescent-based biosensors, for its use in disease models, such as glioblastoma. The combination of three-dimensional spatial information, real-time dynamics and high throughput analysis can be key to improve the current understanding of the diseases of study.
