Levaraging transcriptomic and metabolic analysis towards future therapeutics in HTLV-1 triggered Adult T-cell Lymphoma/Leukemia

HTLV-1 induced Adult T-cell Lymphoma/Leukemia (ATL) is a complex opportunistic malignancy with two components that must be addressed during treatment: a delicate balance between cell death and cell survival/proliferation of the tumoral CD4+ clone vs. cell activation, cell death and proliferation of anti-leukemic CD8+ cells. This project will combine unbiased transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis of ATL cohorts. Transcriptomic and metabolomic results will likely support the roles of ascorbic acid and retinoic acid in the development and progression of the cancer, suggesting therapeutic interventions that may benefit survival rates in these patients.
