Thin-film composite membranes for organic redox flow batteries

Redox flow batteries are an efficient way of storing renewable energy for a more even energy distribution. The implementation of these batteries is currently hindered by costly redox pairs and membranes. On top, currently used membranes suffer from high resistance or high cross over of redox pairs, which are in a trade-off. Novel implementation of thin-film composite membranes (TFC) could break this trade-off.
