Microplastics pollution in Vietnamese beaches: spatial variability and the role of benthos

Vietnam is among the countries which discharge most plastic matter into the ocean. Once transported into the sea, especially microplastics (> 0.1 μm, < 5 mm) interact with the fauna including potentially the benthos. For the first time, microplastic pollution in different beach environments in Vietnam will be analysed and their interaction with the associated benthos investigated.
