Eu trade policy meets geopolitics : what about trade justice?

The European Commission’s new trade policy review promises more assertiveness and enforceability. While aligning with the ambition to become a geopolitical actor, it is unclear how this bodes for trade justice. Focusing on the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapters in EU free trade agreements, a number of critical questions can be raised on the putative benefits of a more muscular approach.
