Impact response of Concrete Beams Externally Reinforced with Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer.

The study comprises an experimental and numerical investigation on the effect of external strengthening in the behaviour of small-scale reinforced concrete (RC) beams under a low-velocity impact using drop-weight impact tests. The increased impact resilience of the strengthened members is analysed in terms of time-histories at the mid-span displacement, acceleration and support reaction forces under an impact load.
