Ethno-territorial politics and sub-national constitutionalism

Book Contribution - Chapter

Subtitle:lessons from Bosnia and Herzegovina
This chapter explores the effects of sub-national constitutionalism on territorial politics. By using B&H as an example, this chapter investigates the interplay between identity, territory, autonomy claims, and sub-national constitutionalism. Importantly, this gives insights about cohesive and divisive qualities of sub-national constitutionalism in B&H. Firstly, the chapter analyzes the evolution of the present constitutional system of B&H. Secondly, the chapter analyzes whether and how wide sub-national constitutional autonomy counteracts autonomy claims in B&H.
