Implementation of novel anti-biofilm technologies

The goal of this PhD is the implementation of new anti-biofilm technologies in medical and industrial applications. Based on an extensive characterisation of the biofilm problems in the intended applications, relevant in vitro and in vivo biofilm models will be developed. The activity of these new anti-biofilm technologies will then be evaluated in these models using complementary measurement methods such as microbial cell counts and confocal microscopy. In parallel, the toxicity of the new technologies will be assessed. In a final stage, the technologies will be validated in practical settings.
