Sterolife, a new plant-based food ingredient for saturated fat reduction while retaining functional properties

Sterolife is an unsaturated edible fat that is solid at room temperature. The scientific goals of this mandate are to fine-tune the manufacturing process and gain insights into the Sterolife properties and its applications. The commercial goal of this mandate is to create a spin-off that produces and sells Sterolife to food companies. Those food companies will use Sterolife as an ingredient in cholesterol-lowering food products, such as spreadable margarines and bakery products.
