Genotype dependent midgut digestion plasticity of black soldier fly larvae and its effect on larval performance and bioconversion efficiency

The aim of our study will be examining the midgut biology of genetically distinct strains and try to find out how this results in the differences in larval growth, adaptation to different protein/carbohydrate ratio feed substrates, mortality, average larval weight, total larval dry matter, nutritional value of the larvae, feed conversion ratio, efficiency of conversion of ingested feed, dry matter reduction and degradation of feed substrate fibre.
