Project

Potential of Plant Endophytes and Minerals for the Yield And quality of spinach in a changing climate (R-10825)

This study proposes research on (1) the potential of mineral soil additives and plant-associated bacteria to reduce cadmium uptake by spinach and (2) new developments in seed coatings, foliar treatments and precision farming applications that address their practical application (cost / benefit) in the field. The resulting knowledge aims at innovations that not only enable an improved, integrated approach to the cadmium problems in spinach, but also offer potential to better guarantee yield, harvest security and quality.
