Role of International Investment Law In Ensuring a sustainable Space Economy

New Space is fundamental for developing a sustainable space economy, which would positively impact the global social development based on the Sustainable Development Concept. The New Space economy's growth hinges on sustained investments, technological progress, and the need for new resources. Nonetheless, sustaining investments' flow into New Space activities is crucial to excelling in technological development and exploiting new resources. The space economy has been attracting new investments' trends, which emerged to boost "New Space" activities. Such trends have revolutionized the modern space landscape with the venture and angel capital investments in space start-ups and the billionaires' investments in private firms and other private institutions.Nonetheless, New Space's private investments may be hindered due to various potential risks. In addition to the inherent space hazardous risks, New Space private investments face political risks and legal risks, which may fall under the international investment law protection and the degree of liberalization of cross-border investments into the New space. Thus, The research aims to make a holistic doctrinal analysis of the international space law in contrast with the international investment law to identify the current set of rules governing New space activities and the extent of investments' protection under the international investment law to ensure a sustainable space economy.
