Enhanced PV integrated Concentrated Solar Power system (FLUX50-CSP+)

General purpose Both PV and concentrated PV are well-known technologies that generate electricity and heat from sunlight respectively. Combining these technologies offers opportunities to capture even more energy from the sun and is also included in the IEA roadmap. In order to reflect low-energy light on the central tube as well as to absorb and convert high-energy light into electricity, beam splitting technology must be used. The consortium wants to achieve this by attaching Si solar cells directly behind the mirrors and making the reflective layer transparent to high-energy photons. The project focuses on research into the right solar cells, the right transmission coatings / encapsulation and the right integration technology. At the end of the project, the consortium wants to arrive at a proof of concept on Thor Park that will be monitored for six months.
