  • Research Expertise:In my research I fore-mostly concentrate on how the early modern visual culture developed. The focus lies on the knowledge needed to create artefacts and the process of how this knowledge came tin existence, how it was disseminated and how this knowledge was used. Attention is paid to artists, craftsmen, amateurs and scientists. I also have a strong interest in the reception of artists and their knowledge in more recent times and in current popular culture.
