Novel superplasticizers for concrete (Novel PCEs)

Superplasticizers are additives for concrete to enhance the processability. In addition, they allow a reduction of the water content leading to stronger concrete. The current fourth generation superplasticizers consist of copolymers with carboxylic acid and poly(ethylene glycol) side chains. In this project, we will further develop our recently discovered plasticizers that are more efficient than the current fourth generation, to pave the way towards the fifth generation of superplasticizers.
