GYM-Generate Your Muscle (R-11070)

GYM (Generate Your Muscle) focuses on developing a generic treatment for recovery of muscle mass and strength in patients with muscle disease and muscle breakdown. This treatment consists of administering large numbers of healthy, autologous muscle stem cells, called mesoangioblasts, to the patient's blood. Because of existing or induced muscle damage, these mesoangioblasts migrate via the blood to the affected muscle, where they grow into healthy muscle fibers, which replace or supplement the defective muscle fibers, thus compensating for muscle mass and muscle loss. GYM wants to anchor the production of mesoangioblasts in the EMR via a high-quality technology company to be set up. This company can become an international player, making use of regional supply companies and contributing to increasing the socio-economic status of the EMR.
