Project

Wear AI (WEAR AI)

The project aims to apply and raise awareness of the added value of AI for monitoring (and prediction) of tool wear within the manufacturing industry. The data used is the electrical power of the processing machine combined with information from the past. The algorithms used in the cases are not the most important result, but the way to get there. After the project, manufacturing companies, assisted by software houses, must be able to repeat the process in a different (applicable to them) context.

The manufacturing industry is the primary target group and directly benefits from the project results. The integrators and installers, machine builders and tool manufacturers are the second target group with a supporting role for manufacturing companies. Finally, IT companies as the third target group also benefit from the results of the project in their role as developers and implementers.
