ReSOS: Resource Secure Operating System

The ReSOS project is situated in the domain of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), an increasingly important segment of the IT landscape. ReSOS tackles a key issue identified by IIoT application providers: guaranteeing reliable multi-year operation as required by industrial applications. ReSOS will achieve this goal by extending Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) with the concept of ‘Energy Security’, which guarantees secure and reliable system operation for a deterministic lifespan within the limited energy budget that is provided by batteries and/or energy harvesting. ReSOS reduces the complexity of developing, deploying and managing long-life IIoT applications by providing autonomous software support for: energy monitoring, management and adaptation. ReSOS will be valorized through in-depth industrial case studies with the aim of bootstrapping bilateral research projects and software license revenues.
