Prevent radicalization among youth. (Extremely EUnited)

The Extremely EUnited project aims to reach out to vulnerable youth by creating an innovative online platform that
will offer a space where the voice of young people will be heard, challenge the radical propaganda, provide youth with
alternatives, develop their resilience and critical thinking mechanisms. The online platform will act as a multilingual
hub to disseminate the media contents that will be created in the project such as videos, podcasts, info graphics,
photos, drawings and articles on different social media networks. To enable faster and more effective communication,
particular focus will be given to create an innovative platform using digital activism.
Our targeted audiences are young people aged 13-25. The targeted audience was decided upon after in-depth analysis
of academic research, paper works, reports, media analysis. Indeed, studies have shown that the most vulnerable
audiences to extremist narratives are young, marginalised and mostly poorly educated people (Radicalisation
Awareness Network/Educating young people, 2018). Moreover, they have shown that once people are already
identifying themselves with an extremist ideology or group, they are less likely to be persuaded by any counter-narrative
campaign, especially in an online context. Thus, we believe that the most effective strategy to adopt is
prevention. This is why, our set of actions will primarily focus on preventing radicalization of youth and dissuading
those who are already sensitive to radical/violent propaganda to engage further in this direction.
The project includes 7 coordinated social media campaigns: Extremely Tolerant, Extremely Creative, Extremely
Inclusive, Extremely Critical, Extremely Informed, Extremely Ethical and Extremely Aware campaign. During every
online campaign, a number of offline events will be organised to foster the impact of the online campaigns.
