On linear codes of almost constant weight and the related arcs

In this note we characterize arcs in PG(r, q) in which the hyperplanes have multiplicities w, w + 1, and w + 2. This result characterizes all linear codes in which the non-zero weights are d, d + 1, or d + 2.
