METAmaterial Science, Technology and Application Revolution (META-STAR)

This research will revolve around the paradigm of electromagnetic metamaterials, whichare artificial materials with unique properties that are due to a super-molecularstructural scale. It will rest on three scientific pillars - bianisotropicmedia, space-time electromagnetics and multiphysics engineering - and will lead to anumber of technological developments across the entire electromagnetic spectrum from microwave to optics via terahertz, with new meta-systems using unprecedentedmetamaterial possibilities and making extensive use of bio / chemico / nanotechnologies.
